First Nations Fashion Show & Aboriginal Art Exhibition

September saw the Australia High Commission in London hosting the First Nation Fashion Show. The first in London, and a wonderful celebration of First Nation designs, many of which blended traditional with contemporary techniques, and also paid homage to the designers’ own Countries and stories.

The catwalk show was opened by Nyoongar dancers.

Alongside the show was an exhibition of contemporary Aboriginal Art organised by Coe Gallery. Aboriginal Art UK were delighted to be asked to contribute a selection of works, from artists including Eubena Nampitjin, Ned Grant, Tuppy Goodwin, Eric Mungi Barney, and Yinarupa Nangala.

It was wonderful to see so many at the event, and to see it well attended and covered by the Australian media. Here's hoping it will become a regular fixture.
