KUKULA McDONALD
Kukula is a young Luritja woman and has been working from the studio at Bindi since 2002. She has been painting predominantly Black Cockatoos in the Central and Western desert and of all things, Wheelchairs 'out bush'.
In recent years Kukula has started painting the rocky outcrops that form ridge lines or hills beside the Community of Papunya. These landscape formations hold cultural significance for the people of Papunya. Kukula incorporates Red Tailed Black Cockatoos into the Papunya landscape, big mobs soaring across beautiful bright blue sky in the Australian outback.
